Both in design and functionality, phone brands are featuring innovations that are unique, stylish and pro-grade. Then there are brands that are indulging in nostalgia by reintroducing old school features into new-age smartphones. This week, let's look at one of each:

Vivo V17Pro - Two much!

Just as pop-up cameras were starting to become the flavour of the season, Vivo, the flag bearer of the trend, has launched the world's first smartphone with two pop-up cameras. The Vivo V17Pro comes with a 32 MP + 8 MP dual pop-up selfie camera, with special night mode algorithms and a super wide-angle lens to capture more people in your groupfie. The 48 MP primary camera is supported by a 13 MP telephoto, an 8 MP wide-angle and macro lens, and a 2 MP bokeh camera. To tick all the boxes of the new-age millennial phone bucket list, the V17Pro  comes with a glass back design inspired by astronomical elements, and AI-based fingerprint scanning. Powered by the Snapdragon 675 processor and a 4100 mAh battery, the device comes with a dual charging engine. To further optimize your selfies, the V17Pro is the first phone with a feature called Pose Master, which suggests selfie poses depending on scene background and your facial expressions. Combined with the dual pop-up camera design,  this device will make you the official photographer of your group. Available at Rs. 29,990 (4 GB + 128 GB).

Moto e6s - Lego block phone!

If you are old enough to have used any feature phones of the late 90s, you would understand the ruggedness and modular design they came with. Of course, today we have the choice of superior compute power, camera performance, and gaming muscle. Motorola, with its latest number -- the e6s --, decides to blend the old and the new by having a clever mix of specs. The 6.1 inches device comes with a 3000 mAh battery, a fingerprint sensor at the back and a dual-camera setup. While the 13 MP primary + 2 MP depth camera, is targeted to woo the new-age smartphone user.

Motorola brings back the long-forgotten concept of removable back covers and battery unit. While this feature may or may not improve or decrease efficiency, it sure brings back memories to a slightly older generation of phone buyers. Ditto for a dedicated Micro SD card slot. With the Moto E6s, modularity rubs shoulders with modern-day design and hand feel. This stock Android device powered by the MediaTek P 22 processor is an ideal festive buy for its attractive price of Rs. 7,999 (4 GB + 64 GB). The brands plan to start selling a range of back covers exclusively for this device.
