The main USP of the smartphone is its in-display fingerprint sensor.
OnePlus recently launched its OnePlus 6T at an event in New York and now the company has revealed the Indian prices of the smartphone. The device is an upgrade to the OnePlus 6, launched back in May. The 6T offers a larger display, an in-display fingerprint sensor, a larger battery and the latest Android 9.0 Pie, coupled with improved low-light photography experience (which will be rolled out to the OnePlus 6 as well via a software update).
The handset flaunts a 6.41-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340x1080 pixels, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 for protection. Under the hood, the OnePlus 6T is built around a 10nm octa-core Snapdragon 845 chipset clocked up to 2.8 GHz, coupled with Andreno 630 GPU, 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. It runs on the latest Android 9.0 Pie with OxygenOS on top. The main USP of the smartphone is its in-display fingerprint sensor. OnePlus is calling this new technology as 'Screen Unlock.' The company claims that the smartphone can be unlocked in 0.34 seconds through Screen Unlock.
Optics wise, the company is touting its improved camera performance in terms of low light photography. The smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup, comprising of a 16MP primary Sony IMX 519 sensor and an f/1.7 aperture and a 20MP f/1.7 secondary Sony IMX 376K sensor. The setup is supported by a dual-LED flash. It is also capable to shoot Super Slow Motion videos (1080p at 240fps and 720p at 480fps). The cameras are equipped with both Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS). For selfies, there is a 16MP f/2.0 Sony IMX 371 sensor. The front camera also supports EIS.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, GLONASS and Type-C port with Fast Charge. Sadly, there's no 3.5mm headphone jack. The handset will be available in Mirror Black and Midnight Black colour options.
The OnePlus 6T comes with a starting price of Rs 37,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, Rs 41,999 for the 8GB/128GB configuration and lastly, Rs 45,999 for the 8GB/256GB configuration. The smartphone will go on open sale via Amazon India, OnePlus' own online website and offline stores, Croma and Reliance Digital outlets from November 3.
