Apple AirPods shipments postponed till January 2017
The AirPods will cost $159 (Rs 15,400 in India).
Apple unveiled their new wireless AirPods along with their latest flagship iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in September. While the smartphones are already available for purchase; the company was expected to start shipping the AirPods in October.
However, a recent report suggests the supplier Inventec will begin the shipments not earlier than January 2017.
‘Apple originally planned to release the AirPods at the end of October, but has postponed release. Inventec is expected to begin shipping AirPods in January 2017,’ reported DigiTimes.
Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) further reported how Inventec’s revenues are expected to grow 7 per cent in a year’s time to reach around NT$754 billion (US$23.83 billion) in 2017, thanks to the order for Apple’s AirPods earphones.
A separate report from Apple Insider claims that the company will ship the AirPods by the end of this year.
