Facebook launches Snapchat-like app called Flash
This Snapchat-clone is designed especially for emerging markets.
Facebook has launched a new video messaging app called Flash which is only available in Brazil at the moment.
The new app is reportedly built by the Facebook team specifically for the emerging markets where Wi-Fi accessibility is limited and connectivity is weak. Facebook boasts that Flash is ‘less than 25MB’ in size which is one-third the size of Snapchat.
The app consists of a camera-first home screen, a chat window, the Stories feature and other features that are highly similar to the Snapchat app.
Users need not register separately as one only requires a Facebook account for the same. There are numerous overlays, masks and other additions available that can be triggered from the menu located next to the camera button on the app.
