Amidst all the controversy surrounding its Galaxy Note 7 after the smartphones suffered from battery issues, Samsung will be focusing on its next flagship smartphone, allegedly dubbed as the Galaxy S8.

To overcome the slump the company is witnessing with Note 7, the next flagship will have to play a key role to revive company’s business and the customer’s confidence.

There are a few online reports that mention that Samsung is aiming towa-rds a new smartphone with unique functions and a design that is not seen before.

The company is ex-pected to unveil the device in the first quarter next year, and here are few ma-jor changes that Samsung is expected to make:

No Home Button The biggest noticeable change would be the elimination of the home button.

Samsung is trying to remove the physical button and implement its function from underneath the tempered glass. It will also have an integrated fingerprint sensor. This indicates that Samsung is planning to go bezel-less with its Galaxy S8.

Just like its rival Apple, Samsung is also expected to add pressure sensitive touchscreen to its upcoming smartphone.

Apple’s possible actions regarding this are also drawing attention because there are speculations that the Cupertino tech giant is also preparing for a full-screen, hole button-less smartphone with its next flagship.

Dual camera setup This will mark the first time that Samsung will be using a dual camera setup on its device. There are rumours floating that Samsung has decided to use dual-cameras to further improve the quality of photos. Dual-cameras are useful in expressing depth of field and also have background blurring effects. While all-in-one dual-cameras units have two lenses and a single camera module, Samsung’s separate dual-cameras will have two separate camera modules. It is still unclear what Samsung will be using for its upcoming flagship.

10-Nano App Processor Samsung is planning to upgrade its application processor. The reports suggest that a 10-nano AP will correspond to the brain of Galaxy S8. The smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 830s or/and an Exynos processor that are manufactured by Samsung Electronics’ System LSI Business Department for different regions. There are a few indications too that 10-nano Snapdragon 830s will soon be produced by Sam-sung. Semiconduc-tors’ performance increases as processes become finer and this can also reduce heating and electricity consumption. This means that smartphones that are already fast can be used for even longer periods.

Galaxy S8 unveiling There are a few rumoured reports that the company could launch the Galaxy S8 before schedule following the recall of Galaxy Note 7. This can be company’s move to develop next models faster and to retail the new S8 rather than to try improving sales of Galaxy Note 7.

Since the Galaxy S8 could be a possibility for the company to gain back the confidence of its customers, it will be interesting to see how Galaxy S8 would make it to the stores in this shortened schedule. Although it is highly possible that Galaxy S8 could be introduced earlier than expected, the S8 is nevertheless scheduled to make its debut in February or March some time next year.
