The makers of Tum Bin 2 have recreated Jagjit Singh’s iconic number Koi Fariyaad from the first part of the series. The song is now titled Teri Fariyaad, and has Ankit Tiwari and Rekha Bhardwaj crooning the number.
It’s been reported that it was Aditya Seal, lead actor of Tum Bin 2, who recommended Rekha’s name for the song. A source says, “When the song was being discussed, Aditya was the one who voiced his opinion about Rekha being the female voice of Teri Fariyaad.”
When we contacted Aditya, he admitted that it was a pleasant surprise when Rekha was actually chosen to sing the track. “I did suggest Rekhaji’s name, but these decisions are solely the director’s prerogative. I’m sure my suggestion set the bell ringing in Anubhav’s (Sinha, director) head. I had no idea he had gone ahead with Rekhaji, until he called me to his office. He said to me there was a surprise for me and played the song for me. I was speechless and so moved.”
