Characters of Comedy Nights With Kapil seem to be controversy’s favourite children. After Kiku Sharda aka Palak was embroiled in legal hassles, it is his co-stars, Sunil Grover and Ali Asgar or the hugely popular Gutthi and Dadi from the show who are being threatened with legal action for their latest act.
Colors channel, on which Comedy Nights used to air, has sent a legal notice to the actors for agreeing to participate as Dadi and Gutthi in a stage show with Salman Khan in Surat on February 19.
While apparently Ali Asgar’s contract with Colors makes it difficult for him to perform his Dadi act at live shows, sources close to Sunil Grover reveal that there is no breach of contract involved in his proposed live act.
“Sunil’s contract with Colors clearly stated that he can perform as Gutthi in live stage shows. He was very clear on this. He has consulted his lawyers and he will go ahead with his Gutthi act in Surat in February 19,” says a source.
Ali Asgar may not have the same luck. It is for us to wait and watch how this drama unfolds. We’ll keep you posted.
