Ahem returns as a tapori
In a last ditch attempt to get the ratings back on track, Sath Nibhana Sathiya is reintroducing its original leading man Mohammed Nazim back in the storyline, in a brand new tapori look. The actor’s exit from the show some time ago had broken many hearts of Sathiya loyalists, and it soon led to diminishing numbers for the show.
After getting a thumbs down for the ice cold chemistry between leading lady Gopi and her new partner Dr Krishna, played by actor Khalid Siddiqui, the makers had no option left but to get Nazim back in the show. The show’s creatives were working overtime to zero in on a new look and identity for Nazim and they finally decided on a vagabond-like, rowdy, street thug character. His re-entry has strategically coincided with the ongoing Janmashtami celebrations. In a tapori look, Nazim will be seen breaking a handi announcing to the world that he is back.
Talking about his re-entry, Nazim says, “The new role at first came to me as a challenge, as it contradicts the value system, principles and ethics of Ahem. The new tapori Ahem is an unkempt, illiterate rogue who has never experienced family life. I have warmed up in a big way to my new look and I’m quite excited to shoot again with my favourite cast and crew. It’s like returning home and they have given me a hero’s welcome. Hope the viewers accept me in the new avatar.”
