Arijit Singh to sing for Mahesh Bhatt’s TV show
Bollywood singer Arijit Singh and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt are collaborating once again to create a musical masterpiece for Mahesh Bhatt’s upcoming television show, Namkarann. A source close to the development reveals, “The project is close to Mahesh’s heart. He is treating the project like a film. He has roped in leading singers like Arijit Singh, Monali Thakur, Kumar Sanu, Palak Muchchal and Anuradha Paudwal to sing tracks for the show. The songs are being composed by Anu Malik. Aashiqui 2 singer Arijit is all set to recreate the magic of Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo sung by the legendary Farida Khanum.”
When we contacted Mahesh Bhatt, he said, “This song has an echo of another time and another place. It brings back a thousand memories of somebody whom I loved and lost. For me, Arijit’s voice depicts every emotion of enduring love.”
The title track of the show is sung by Monali Thakur and the director only has good things to say about the singer. So touched was Mahesh with her her soulful rendition, that the song moved him to tears. He says, “Monali is a brilliant talent. It echoes all that I believe in and stand for. It has my world in it. The way that girl has sung has left me in tears. Somebody asked me what’s my world view and I said listen to the song. It’s is all there.”
