Mystery and miscief

My fondest Diwali memory goes back to the time when I was staying in Dubai. I remember hiding from the cops and trying to burst crackers. My friends and I had actually gone to a parking lot once to burst crackers. As you aren’t really allowed to burst crackers in Dubai! When I came back to India, I remember in our lane we had a bua ji we were irritated by. She lived in a white house and one day, a cow had pooped outside her house and we put a rasi bomb on top of the goobar. Resulting to her entire house dunked in cow poop. Though we did get punished the next day, it was fun. So yes, these are a few memories of the festival, which I will always cherish!

Family bash One of my most memorable and hatke Diwali was when my family and I went to Mussorie with my grandmom and cousins. We stayed at a luxury property there and we had a gala time while bursting crackers and eating delicious homemade sweets. I am expecting this year also to be my hatke celebration too, as it will be my first Diwali after my success. Ridhima Pandit, actress

Home-sweet-home This year is going to be my most memorable Diwali as I will be celebrating it in my own abode in Mumbai and I can’t thank the almighty enough for his blessings. As it’s said, ‘It takes hands to build a house but only hearts can build a home’. Though there are quite a few memorable Diwali’s that I have spent but this one is really special. Laugh out loud With busy work schedules one hardly get to spend time with family. My most memorable Diwalis are the one I spend at home relaxing and chatting with my parents and brother. I enjoy bursting crackers while relishing on the delicious sweets made by my mother. Siddharth Mahadevan, singer

Spreading smiles I am really excited for this year’s celebration, as it’s the first Diwali for Pammi Aunty. I have even planned a Diwali special video where in she will be sharing her experience and expectation from the festival of lights. Apart from that, all my Diwali with family are unforgettable. Nothing is more memorable than the smiles on the faces of my family and friends. Ssumier Pasricha, actor

Bright and shiny My fondest memory of Diwali are of Dehradhun, with my entire family. We have a traditional celebration, which begins with Laxmi puja before bursting crackers with everyone. Celebration are followed with good food and a lot of mithai. I love decorating the entire house with divas and candles. All my Diwalis in Dehradun were beautiful and I really miss them after having moved to Mumbai. Asha Negi, actress

Lights of happiness Last year the Dil Dosti Dance cast went to Navi Mumbai to celebrate Diwali. The idea was to burst crackers for a longer time, and that is one Diwali that I will never forget. We all had a blast, along with a yummy Diwali feast! Another hatke Diwali that I will always cherish is from my childhood. I remember how all the male members of my family would actually make firecrackers at our home. These two are my fondest memories of Diwali. Shantanu Maheshwari, actor
