Given the history of bickering the estranged couple, Kushal Tandon and ex-flame Gauhar Khan, has had at regular intervals on the social networking sites after their break up, one would think Gauhar and Kushal would be chronically averse to the idea of getting back together. However, surprisingly, that doesn’t seem to be the case — at least that’s what Kushal hints at. When asked if there is a possibility of giving their relationship a second chance, the actor says, “Never say never for anything in life,” leaving scope broad open for a reconciliation with Gauhar provided she bothers to take a cue. So, does that mean there will be no further digs at each other “No bad blood. It’s all clean blood now. We are friends, all peace now. I always learnt something from my relationship. And it’s a good moment spent, no regrets,” Kushal says. Considering the sizzling chemistry the duo shared on screen one wonders if they will consider working together again if given an opportunity. “Yes why not,” says Kushal, who is back on the tube as the leading man in the newly launched show Beyhad, starring opposite Jennifer Winget and Aneri Vajani.
It took the actor almost two long years to be back with a fiction show. Point that and the actor gets a little pensive. “I was working for five years at a stretch. I did Ek Hazaaro Mein... for two years and then I got into reality shows. In Fear Factor, I broke my hand and due to the ligament tissue tear, I had to undergo an operation. That one year became my sabbatical. In between I signed two movies, but I backed out due to creative issues. I believe in being an A-lister on television than being a struggler in Bollywood, who takes up random projects just for the sake of it. I am happy in my comfort zone and I am well aware of where I want to reach,” shares Kushal.
“My first movie has to be memorable — I have to get all the awards the same way I received accolades for my my first fiction show.” When asked on why he took up Beyhad, Kaushal says, “I was completely bowled over by Beyhad — it is a refreshing concept that will break stereotypes. The show will change the definition of content on Indian television. Besides, it’s a finite series, so the story won’t be stretched unnecessarily.”
The story is a love triangle, which makes it obvious that the actor will be sandwiched between two women. Is that too much to handle, we ask. “Both of them are extremely nice, talented actresses. We have a great camaraderie which can be seen onscreen as well as off-screen. Jennifer, who plays Maya’s character, is a professional. Aneri is also doing a great job as Saanjh in the show. All said and done, I’m getting attention from two women, so I’m not complaining,” he laughs.
