Mika Singh promises to fund Sarabjit’s child’s wedding
Popular singer Mika Singh, who is currently seen as a mentor on TV show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, is a philanthropist. From extending a helping hand to build a new house for the talented contestant duo Hashmat and Sultana to offering new talent their first singing break, his generosity has touched many lives. Recently when the cast of Sarbjit — Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Randeep Hooda and director Omung Kumar visited the sets of the show along with late Sarabjit Singh’s sister Dalbir Kaur, they too had a similar experience. Mika presented a Khanda (military emblem of Sikhs) worth Rs 25 lakhs to Dalbir and also committed to sponsor Sarabjit’s daughter’s wedding.
Talking about the gesture Mika said, “Yes I have promised to bear the entire expense of Sarabjit’s younger daughter Poonam’s wedding. I will be grateful if I can be of any help to the family that has seen and braved so much. I have witnessed Dalbir’s struggle and have seen how the brave woman run from pillar to post to prove her brother’s innocence. This is a salute to her immovable spirit.”
