Mihir Joshi Favourite performance: Mutemath My favourite concert of all time was Mutemath at Bluefrog in Mumbai. I had just started listening to their music about a month before the gig only since my band’s guitar player, who is possibly their biggest fan in India, introduced me to it. They were an amazing live act — they have a ridiculous amount of energy on stage and they can engage the crowd. They did some things I’ve never seen any band do in a gig. If Mutemath ever comes back to India, that would be a gig you just do not want to miss. Mihir is a musician
Tara Alisha Berry Favourite film: Bandini My favourite film of all time is Bandini — I love Bimal Roy’s films and I am a huge fan of Nutanji. I believe she is an epitome of grace and beauty; and a fabulous actor as well. All the characters in the film have beautiful graphs. Love and its complexities are explored excellently through this story. It is natural and it shows what one goes through in real life; this is what makes the movie relatable. Tara is an actress
Tripet Garielle Favourite album: Music Box My favourite album is Music Box by Mariah Carey. It is an album that I have on standby as it has a nice mix of songs from ballads to urban hits and there’s a song to suit every mood. When I face challenges, I put this track on and it makes me feel like I can survive and go on. The album gives me inspiration as a singer and as a human being too. Tripet is a singer
Punam Chadha Joseph Favourite book: Jonathan Livingston Seagull Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach is an inspiring story about realizing the true potential that exists within each of us. It is a story self-discovery and creating a special place in society. I read the book at a very young and impressionable age and it continues to guide the spirit of positive thinking within me. Through Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Richard has tried to explore the higher end, which gives meaning to an individual’s life. It celebrates the strength of an individual and the pleasure of following one’s heart and making one’s own rules. Richard uses the metaphor of seagulls flying to demonstrate that if we follow our dreams and achieve our dream goals, we too can soar and create our own excellence. Punam is an author
Farrokh Khambata Favourite restaurant: Waku Ghin, Singapore Waku Ghin by Tetsuya Wakuda in Singapore has to be on everybody’s list. This Japanese restaurant is spread over 10,000 sq. ft. There’s a personal chef who cooks for you privately — the food is modern Japanese and has a fixed tasting menu. There is entree, which is cold, and the main course is cooked Teppanyaki style — it’s my favourite. Additionally, the dessert is served in different area. Farrokh Khambata is a restaurateur and chef at Amadeus
Jim Sarbh Favourite TV show: Twin Peaks One TV show I would recommend everyone is Twin Peaks. It’s the perfect combination of melodrama and horror, full of occult references and quirky comedy. It is a great parody of soap operas: taking stock characters and complicating them through their bizarre behaviour. Agent Dale Cooper might be one of the greatest characters you’ve ever come across.
