Was Ssharad Malhotra not funny enough

Actor Ssharad Malhotra’s unceremonious exit from Comedy Nights Bachao has certainly not gone unnoticed, considering the fact that he has a huge fan base looking forward to seeing the actor in a new avatar. A source from the show, on the condition of anonymity, said the actor was asked to leave simply because he wasn’t able to do stand up comedy, even though he tried his best. Revealing more details on Ssharad’s exit, the source added, “Ssharad was paid a hefty amount to be part of the show. Even though his hands were full with the daily show he is doing on the same channel, he gave in to the temptation and came on board. Looking at his hectic schedule, it was evident that he has taken on more than he could handle. Juggling between the two shows was getting difficult for the actor, but he somehow continued to manage both the shoots.” Unfortunately, comedy isn’t his forte. “Acting is Sharad’s forte so delivering in Kasam wasn’t a problem for him. But stand-up comedy was a completely different beast and he just wasn’t able to deliver on Comedy Nights Bachao,” the source adds.

Apparently, his discomfort with comedy was very visible. “The production house was not happy with his performance and politely asked him to leave the show, so he could be replaced by an ace stand-up comedian. As a result, Mubeen Saudagar was brought in to fill in,” adds the source. Despite repeated attempts, Ssharad did not answer our calls and didn’t respond to our text. Mubeen on replacing Ssharad said, “I don’t know why Sharad was replaced. I saw only one episode and he seemed okay in that. I guess daily soap actors have a different way of doing things. Acting is their forte and comedy isn’t, so they may not be comfortable doing stand up. I only know that I wasn’t able to give them dates for the show post its revamp, so they had taken Ssharad to fill in for me for four or five episodes. Now that my dates issues are sorted, I have been brought back”
