Looking at all the frenzy around Divyanka Tripathy and Vivek Dahiya’s wedding, it can easily be touted as the wedding of the year in the television industry. Preparations are on in full swing in Divyanka’s hometown Bhopal for the big day.
The couple has personally supervised everything to make sure that their wedding on July 8 is a memorable affair. The sangeet ceremony will be held on July 7. The event will be filmy, with the couple performing on a shaadi song created for them. The wedding is all set to be a traditional affair as per Divyanka’s wish. Since the actress wanted the baraat to come to her parents’ house, the wedding is taking place in Bhopal.
Talking about the wedding, Vivek says, “Divyanka wanted to go by the book, so we had to keep the wedding as per traditions. I will take the baraat to her place. Both our families want it to be a close-knit affair, so only our close friends and relatives will be in attendance. To be honest, we have been counting the days to our wedding.” The reception will take place in Chandigarh followed by a cocktail party in Mumbai later. We hear that the bride and groom will be colour-coordinated on their big day.
The very mention of Divyanka is enough to light up Vivek’s face. It isn’t difficult to get him gushing about Divyanka. He says, “Despite being a star, she is the most humble and grounded person I have come across. The more time I spend with her, the more I fall in love with her. Sometimes she deprives herself of sleep to spend time with me. I tell her that she doesn’t need to do that. But she says that it is important for us to spend time.” He adds that Divyanka isn’t very different from her onscreen character, Ishita from Ye Hai Mohabbatein. Vivek says, “When I told my parents that I am taking things forward with Divyanka, they asked me if she is like Ishita off screen too. I said yes. My parents told me to finalise things in that very moment. They kept insisting that aisi ladki dobara nahi milegi. (You will never find such a girl again).” The couple will also move into a new place post the wedding. In fact, Divyanka and Vivek will zero in on a few shortlisted places soon.
So what are the honeymoon plans, we ask. “We won’t be able to take a break right away. I guess once I finish working on Kavach, we could take some time out for our honeymoon. I have got a few places in mind but I can’t reveal those because it’s meant to be a surprise for Divyanka!”
