'American Horror Story' to deal with Presidential election

When asked whether there will be a character based on now-President Trump, Murphy responded, maybe.

Los Angeles: Director-producer Ryan Murphy has said that the next season of "American Horror Story" will pull inspiration from the 2016 Presidential election.

During an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live," Murphy said that the season seven of the FX anthology series will tackle the November 8 election that saw Donald Trump defeat former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The next season "is going to be about the election that we just went through so I think that will be interesting for a lot of people," Murphy said.

When asked whether there will be a character based on now-President Trump, Murphy responded, "maybe."

"American Horror Story" was renewed for two more seasons in January. Series mainstays Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters have already been confirmed to return. Season seven begins shooting in June.
