Pakistan: India has built secret nuclear city'
Islamabad: Pakistan on Thursday said India was raising a “covert nuclear city” and had conducted inter-continental tests of missiles.
Addressing a weekly news briefing here, foreign office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said a huge cache of atomic weapons had been stored in a “covert nuclear city” in South India and inter-continental missiles were being manufactured. He asserted that India was in possession of substantial amount of nuclear material.
Mr Zakaria voiced Pakistan’s reservations by saying that Indian aggression will disturb regional balance. He said that India has been making efforts to isolate Pakistan in the world but has become victim to its own ill-tactics.
About US visa ban matter, Mr Zakaria said that President Donald Trump had assured that Pakistan is not among the countries that are faced with travel ban.
The statement comes after a couple of days when India was reported to have signed “emergency” arms deals mainly with France, Russia and Israel worth at least '200 billion in last four months.
Mr Zakaria said that the alleged surgical strikes that India claims to have conducted against Pakistan a couple of months ago, in the wake of the Uri attacks, was a drama created by the country.
The spokesperson said that Pakistan Army had arranged a visit for international journalists who had viewed the place where the Indian Army had claimed to have conducted the strikes.
He said that in its quest to isolate Pakistan, India had itself been isolated from the international community. He urged the international community to take notice and check rapid Indian expansion in conventional and nuclear weapons.
He said India was involved in acts of terrorism in Pakistan and Islamabad has provided evidence to the UN about Indian interference.
The spokesperson claimed India was funding terrorist activities in Pakistan. To a question he said Pakistan itself is a victim of terror. “People of Pakistan and their State institutions have been the target of terrorism,” he said.
Nafees Zakaria alleged India was constantly violating ceasefire at the Line of Control (LoC), which resulted in the loss of lives of the innocent civilians. Indian belligerence continues to pose threat to the peace in the region, which the international community should take note of.
