Garlic bread pizza

PizzAah! is tucked inside Waterfield Road’s Café Lager and easily missed if not for the standee outside. The outlet (there’s one in Andheri too) claims to have tweaked a pizza oven to offer wood-fired and smoked pizzas, but does not deliver beyond a restricted area. We ordered the Cheesy Garlic Bread Sticks (Rs 160), which looked lip-smacking, but were doughy, with barely any taste or either garlic or cheese. The meaty Carnivore pizza was generously sprinkled with red paprika, chicken sausage and salami while the mutton seekh (which the menu mentioned) was conspicuously missing. It tasted bland at best, with bursts of paprika tingling the buds with every other bite. The tomato, basil and garlic dip was the only saving grace.

The Farmhouse (mushroom, onion, green olives, chicken) wasn’t any better. We kept reaching out to the seasonings and ketchup (yes, that’d be offensive to any pizza maker/lover) to get us through. The PizzAah menu has no drinks, which have to be ordered from the café. The Peach Iced Tea (Rs 150) and Diet Coke (Rs 60) offered much respite. Some more effort could help PizzAah! salvage itself from becoming just another pizza chain.
