"The increase in P-notes investment is in line with the higher net inflows of FPIs in the cash segment, which increased from Rs 13,500 crore in February to Rs 32,000 crore in March," Vinod Nair, head of research at Geojit Financial Services, said.

Till March-end Rs 56,288 crore was in equities, Rs 20,999 crore in debt and Rs 119 crore in derivatives.

As per depositories data, FPIs invested a net amount of Rs 13,308.78 crore in equities and pulled out Rs 2,212.08 crore from the debt segment during April 1-12, taking the total net investment to Rs 11,096.70 crore.
