Samsung set to focus on Rs 10k-25k space

Hyderabad: Mobile phone maker Samsung on Monday said that it is mulling to increase its manufacturing capacity in India.

“All our products that are sold in India are made in India. We have a plant here in India in Noida. All our products get produced there. We are trying to double the capacity of what we have right now,” said Sumit Walia, director, Samsung India.

The company on Monday unveiled four new phones to bolster its position in the mid-price segment (Rs 10,000-25,000) and fend off Xiaomi in the Indian smartphone market.

The four handsets, Galaxy J6, Galaxy J8, Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+, are priced between Rs 13,990 and Rs 25,990.

In Delhi, Samsung India senior V-P  (mobile business) Mohandeep Singh said the company has developed features keeping in mind the millenial users who buy phones in the price range of Rs 10,000 and Rs 25,000.
