Jennifer Lopez praises domestic abuse survivor

On the latest episode of the final season of American Idol, Jennifer Lopez broke down into tears as top-five contestant La’Porsha Renae sang Mary J. Blige’s No More Drama, dedicating it to the being able to overcome domestic abuse.

After tearfully watching the performance, Jennifer praised La’Porsha’s bravery and said, “We’ve all been through stuff like that.”

She added that moments like these were why she was going to miss the show, saying, “It’s even having this front seat watching the perfect song and the perfect singer sing it at that time. And it made me think, ‘Damn, I’ve been so lucky the five years I got to be on this show and watch things like that.’”
