Earlier, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had to ask members not to come in front of the ministers when they are responding to questions.
New Delhi: In a courtesy gesture towards his Cabinet colleague, Union home minister Amit Shah on Friday was seen standing behind textile minister Smriti Irani and waiting to finish her statement during the question hour in Lok Sabha before walking up to his seat.
Mr Shah had come to Lok Sabha to table his first Bill which was providing quota to youth in jobs in Jammu and Kashmir and extension of President’s rule in the state. However, as he walked in the House he saw Mrs Irani responding to a question by K. Shanmuga Sundaram with regard to textile industry in Coimbatore and Tiruppur. Mr Shah stopped behind her and waited till she finished her answer. And after Mrs Irani sat down he walked up to his seat in the front row.
Earlier, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had to ask members not to come in front of the ministers when they are responding to questions. “Respected members please do not come in front of the minister when she is replying to question,” Mr Birla said when one of the members came in front of Mrs Irani when she was replying to a question.
