There is no way a beer would be allowed in outer space.
Imagine this: you’re an astronaut, in outer space. There’s a set way of how you eat and drink your food and water, but one fine day, you miss a cold one with the boys and ache for a beer.
There is no way a beer would be allowed in outer space. Think of all the froth in the spacecraft. Till now. Vostok, an Australian start up has spent the last decade developing beer that can be consumed in zero gravity.
Developed by 4 Pines Beer and Saber Astronautics, the beer faced an initial hiccup of figuring out the issue of pouring the drink, as well as human physiology (dealing with taste as well as belches)
The team says that they’ve finally perfected the right kind beer to be had in space, and they have the right kind of packaging in place. Jason Held, CEO of Saber Astronautics, told Food & Wine that the entire idea was to make sure it felt like you were having beer from a bottle and not a squeezy bag.
The company is now looking to fund the entire project, and make it available, and the crowdsourced project is for $1 million. Of course, they’ll be ensuring backers get something out of it, and for about $90, you get your own Vostok bottle that you can use to drink anything in space.
