Will hire best lawyer to ensure justice for Ankit, says Arvind Kejriwal
Keeping their security in mind, it is learnt that the family has been sent out of Delhi.
NEW DELHI: The Delhi police kept a strict vigil and special forces were deployed in west Delhi’s Khayala as tension continues in the area after a 23-year-old photographer was stabbed to death by the family members of a girl with whom he had been in a relationship for three years. The girl has been sent to Nari Niketan and a few relatives who lived nearby have moved away.
Meanwhile, a team of Delhi police has reportedly shifted the family of girl from Khayala to an unknown place. Keeping their security in mind, it is learnt that the family has been sent out of Delhi.
Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that he would do his best to ensure strictest possible punishment for culprits responsible for the murder of Ankit Saxena, a professional photographer.
Mr Kejriwal, in a tweet, said that his government would hire the best lawyers to ensure justice for Ankit.
“I had a word with Ankit’s father. No condemnation is enough for what happened. Delhi government will hire the best possible lawyer to ensure justice for Ankit. We will try our best to ensure that the culprits are awarded the strictest possible punishment under the law. May God give strength to Ankit’s family. We stand with them in these struggling times,” Mr Kejriwal tweeted.
Mr Kejriwal on Sunday also spoke to Ankit’s father and assured the family that his government would make all possible efforts to ensure they get justice.
AAP MP Sushil Gupta and MLA Girish Soni also visited the Ankit’s family to express their support, but they were not at home. The family had left the national capital to perform the last rites of their son in Hardwar.
Mr Gupta, however, met the neighbours and assured that the family would be given monetary support and the culprits would be brought to justice.
Ankit was stabbed to death on Thursday night in west Delhi’s Khyala area. The woman’s family opposed her relationship with Ankit as the two belonged to different communities, according to the police.
