Gurgaon: A-57-year-old ex-serviceman shot his own son following a quarrel at Patel Nagar in old Gurgaon on Friday evening.

The victim was rushed to the nearest hospital where his condition is said to be stable. The accused managed to run away from the spot.

According to police, the victim was identified as Mordhwaj (25), a lawyer by profession.

He returned home at around 8.30 pm on Friday evening in a heavily inebriated state. When his father, identified as Jagdish Kumar (57), an ex-serviceman, raised objections, the victim misbehaved with him that instigated an argument between them.

It took an ugly turn and the accused brought out his licensed gun. During the scuffle, Jagdish fired four bullets at Mordhwaj, wounding him seriously.

On hearing the gunshots, the neighbours rushed to the spot to help.

Mordhwaj was immediately taken to a nearby hospital.

“We have registered an attempt to murder case against the accused. Further investigation is going on. We will arrest the accused soon,” said a senior police officer.
