Gangster Dabodia’s close aide arrested

New Delhi :The Delhi police crime branch arrested a former close aide of Neetu Dabodia, who was involved in several cases of murder and attempt to murder. The police has claimed to have solved three cases after his arrest.

The arrested accused was identified as Nitin Dabas (28). He was wanted in three criminal cases, including carjacking and attempt to murder, in Delhi. Dabas is a notorious robber and murderer of Outer and Rohini district. He was an active member of the Neetu Dabodia gang and has close links with the Rajesh Bawania gang now. According to police, information about Nitin was received and a trap was laid at the expected spot. On Thursday evening, he was apprehended from the spot.

On sustained interrogation, he disclosed involvement in many crime case. committed by him and his gang members two days ago in Kanjhawala area. He further disclosed involvement in a case of attempt to murder in Bawana and another case of illegal trespass and use of firearm, said the police.

“In July 2010, he and his associates shot one Rahul to death in Bawana. He was arrested and spent eight years in jail, where he met the criminal Dabodia and joined his gang. He attempted to escape from police custody in 2012, but was unsuccessful. In the year 2016, he tried to commit suicide in Rohini Jail,” said DCP (Crime Branch) Dr Joy Tirkey.

The DCP further added that Nitin was out on bail in February 2018. In May 2018, he forcibly entered the office of a property dealer in Aman Vihar along with his associate Jitender and threatened him at gun point over a property dispute.

On the intervening night of June 11-12, he and his associates robbed a car at gun point. However, two days later he was apprehended. His associates, Ankit and Sundar, are still absconding. Efforts are being made to nab them, said the police.
