New Delhi: Counting of votes for the high-stakes Bawana byelection in Delhi will be held on Monday. The results will decide the fate of candidates of the three major political parties-the ruling AAP, the BJP and the Congress-all of whom have exuded confidence about winning the seat.

The Bawana bypoll, which went to polls last week, saw the poll percentage fall significantly to 45 per cent from 61.83 per cent in 2015.

Eight candidates are in the fray. In the 70-member Delhi Assembly, the AAP has 65 MLAs, the BJP four, while Congress is hoping to open its account by winning
this seat. Elections to this seat were hed after ex-AAP MLA Ved Prakash resigned from the Assembly and joined the BJP in March.
