The future of the CPI(M) is not good. This party does not fight against the capitalism. It is a vote-oriented party.

Kolkata: Taking a jibe at his former party, the CPI(M), following its disastrous defeat in Tripura, Trinamul Congress minister Abdur Rezzak Mollah on Saturday said that had the CPI(M) paid heed to his advice earlier, it would not have faced rout.

“The future of the CPI(M) is not good. This party does not fight against the capitalism. It is a vote-oriented party. Had they listened to my words then, they would have met with such a fate,” he said.

“Since the CPI(M) is a vote-oriented party, its results have been what it should be. They do not need to be a signboard anymore. What is the gain in it? After this result they have ceased to exist in the country. They had been feeling that they were going face the crisis. But they were not in a mood to accept it. I broke my silence and I spoke about my feeling loud and clear to them. But they did not pay any heed to me. Had they given a thought into my views, they would not have landed in such a fate,” Mr Mollah added.

Mr Mollah, one of the longest serving MLAs while he was in the CPI(M), earned the party’s wrath for speaking against the party’s decisions and was expelled from the CPI(M) in 2014.
