Kolkata: The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education will allot 10 marks for internal assessment in the results of the Higher Secondary Examination that will be out in 2019.

The Council has already forwarded such a proposal to the state education department for its approval.

“This internal assessment will be based upon attendance in school, performance in the extra curricular activities and discipline,. and also upon the marks scored by the students in the Class XI annual examination.

The school headmaster in consultation with a team of teachers will be involved in the process,” a top Council official said on Thursday.

At present, 20 marks are allotted for projects and 30 marks for practicals in the Science subjects out of the 100 marks.

The 10 marks for internal assessment will be adjusted from the 20 and 30 marks respectively. There will be no change in the written part.

The Council, in a relief to the students, also announced that students who have attempted question number 1C in the Geography HS paper will be awarded full marks. as there was an error in it.
