Mumbai: The sessions court has rejected the bail application filed by police officer Pradyuman Yadav, Divya Pahuja, girlfriend of Sandeep Ghadoli, and her mother Sonia in connection with the fake encounter of Ghadoli. The Haryana police had killed Ghadoli in a hotel in Mumbai and used Divya as a bait to trap him, according to the prosecution.

According to public prosecutor H.J. Raisinghani and advocate Nizam, Divya was an implant to orchestrate the elimination of Ghadoli. She accompanied Ghadoli and was constantly sending information about his location and whereabouts to her mother, who in turn was updating the Haryana police with the same.

The police was able to kill Ghadoli in a fake encounter based on this information. All this was done for monetary gains and they should not be granted bail, he argued.

Sessions judge Anand Yawalkar in his order observed that the high court granted bail to two policemen on the ground that they came to Mumbai on the orders of the police commissioner to apprehend Ghadoli.

They were not present on the spot when incident happened and they are part of Haryana police and are not likely to escape.

According to the judge, both the ladies are not government servants, and Divya was present in the room when the encounter took place and they gained monetarily because of their involvement in the crime and hence bail could not be granted to them. Since Yadav was also present at the time of encounter, his bail was also rejected.
