Former Bigg Boss contestant Ajaz Khan surrendered in a local court in Andheri Wednesday evening, fearing arrest in connection with a case in which a model had registered a case against him for allegedly sending lewd messages. After surrendering before the police, he paid Rs 10,000 guarantee to the court. Later, the Versova police station was informed about his surrender.

The complainant, model Aishwarya Choubey, is a resident of Char Bungalow area of Andheri (west). A few months ago, during a film event she met Khan and they exchanged phone numbers. On June 6, when the model was at her home, Khan allegedly sent her a few vulgar texts on WhatsApp, along with a vulgar image. Ms Choubey had reportedly approached the Versova police on Monday and submitted her complaint on Tuesday, following which an FIR was registered against the actor. Based on the complaint of the model, the police filed a case against Khan under sections 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC. After registering the complaint, the police summoned Khan to give his statement, but the actor avoided it and instead, along with his lawyer presented himself in the Andheri court.

In the court, Khan showed his willingness to surrender and filed a bail application through his lawyer. After the bail application was filed, a hearing took place and he was released after paying up Rs 10,000 to the court. Meanwhile, the actor had denied the allegations, saying he had just said a ‘hello’ to the model as an act of kindness.
