There are many instances where local authorities ignore the problem of the locals and the inconvenience causes many issues. A Mumbaikar decided to have some fun of her own while trying to get their attention and it has grabbed quite a few eyeballs because of its imitation to an iconic photograph.

According to a media report, Bandra resident Genesia Alves decided to take matters into her hands after she had asked the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to clear the pile of rubble in front of her house but they did not pay heed. Alves along with her 16-year-old daughter decided to replicate an iconic photograph from World War II by sitting on top of the rubble on St. Paul’s Road.

Genesia, a freelance journalist, borrowed a pink dress from her daughter and got hold of a mug before she tied her hair in a turban to create an exact imitation of the photo. The mother-daughter duo posted the photo on Twitter and sneaked out before the workers came in.
