The Bijoy Gopal Nandi Memorial Trust has invited leading international tennis and football coaches to conduct clinics in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkatta. The objective is to nurture and promote the future of young tennis and football players in the country. This was announced by Archana Burman, General Secretary of the Bijoy Gopal Nandi Memorial Trust at a press conference on Saturday.

The distinguished and reputed International coaches who will be present to provide their guidance and quality training include, Gustavo Ordonez — former ATP player, Barcelona Spain; Jordi Munoz Abreo — Venezuelan Davis Cupper; Tati Bua — Federation Cup player from Argentina and WTA player; Noel Urena Molina —European League champion and fitness coach and Sebastian Hererra — former FC Barcelona and Espanyol player. Another footballer is scheduled to join the program as an assistant coach.

“This would be a great opportunity to train with international circuit players and former ATP players who can guide and share their valuable experience on a one-to-one basis. The coaches would also provide individual assessment of every player,” said Burman.

Burman further said the Trust wanted to provide aspiring youngsters with an opportunity to learn the best techniques of tennis without travelling abroad to train. Through this program, young Indian players could have the same exposure in their home town while spending much less than the expenditure they would incur to go to foreign countries and train.

In addition, the best players could earn the opportunity to train at the Club Sports Tennis Cunit, Barcelona for a month or more with a 50 per cent scholarship. The team of coaches would select the 10 best players who would benefit from this scholarship. This clinic promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for both tennis players and parents and will be conducted in four categories.
