2018 iPhone X would be as expensive as the current model
Last year, when Apple has officially launched the revolutionary iPhone X, there were very low expectations on the company's latest flagship. The reason was its price, which had reached the peak mark in the smartphone industry, its pricing was started at 1000$ (Rs 89,000) for the base 64GB variant.
Many believed that this iPhone X would definitely wouldn't sell much despite the new unprecedented design, which changed the design approach of every other contemporary later. However, notwithstanding the price, Apple has announced that its iPhone X was the best-selling model as recent as the March quarter.
In the effect of this, a new report suggests that the upcoming iPhones, which are going to be launched later this year, wouldn't be seeing a price cut. Apple might not be considering to decrease the upcoming products' line-up since the iPhones are selling substantially good even with the steep pricing.
A report by Digitimes suggests that Apple is expecting strong sales of the forthcoming three iPhones, which are expected to release in September and the tech-giant isn't willing to change the steep pricing. The report also states that TPS and General Interface Solution (GIS) will be manufacturing the touch panels for the new iPhones, with the first to account for 40 per cent of all orders. Besides, these same companies will also be making panels for the expected LCD model as well.
The upcoming trio of the iPhones will most likely be one successor to the current iPhone X followed by a larger variant, which would be featuring a 6.5-inch display. Furthermore, there's an expected LCD model with a design similar to the iPhone X. And, all the iPhone are supposed to feature the Apple's Face ID authentication and completely ditching the home button, hopefully for a greater good. It's too obvious to predict the pricing details yet, but expect steep pricing for all the iPhone models that are geared up to launch this September, this year. There are also rumours circulating that Apple might be launching a newer version of iPhone SE at WWDC, this year.
