This is, perhaps, the most unique love story that was born on Facebook.

This is, perhaps, the most unique love story that was born on Facebook. Gaurav befriended Rizwan on the social networking site about five years ago and the two became so close that they fell in love.

Rizwan lives in Pakistan and Gaurav, a trained Kathak dancer, lives in Lucknow.

The two friends started talking to each other on phone and Rizwan, one day, told him that he loved Gaurav who reciprocated the same feelings.

“Our relationship is not physical but emotional and spiritual. The world may call us ‘gay’ but we love each other,” says Gaurav.

When Gaurav’s mother started looking for a bride for her son, Gaurav spoke to Rizwan and the latter suggested that one of them should opt for a sex change operation and then get married.

“I immediately decided that I would go in for a sex change operation and started surfing the Internet to find out more about it. I then contacted Dr Mithilesh Mitra and after the usual tests, surgeries and sessions of counselling, I was reborn as Aashna,” ‘she’ said.

Aashna, as Gaurav is now known as, has also written several books on dance and is now eagerly waiting for Rizwan to come to India in March so that they can get married and live together for the rest of their lives.
