Fix the basics first

This is with reference to Aakar Patel’s article, Greatness lies in fixing small things (Oct. 9). Mr Patel is right when he says that the Indian government cannot even deliver on the primary condition of state effectiveness... Mob violence and lynchings are a part of our routine. Focus on education and health is missing, so how can we expect our country to become a great power Therefore, fixing basic things should be the need of the hour.
