Now exchange junk for notebooks

These books will be supplied to all the schools in zilla parishads, municipal corporations, government-aided and semi-government.

MUMBAI: Students of government, government-aided and civic schools will now get notebooks for school purposes in exchange for junk. The state education department has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Namoanand Upcylcers Pvt. Ltd who will come together and supply books to the students. These books will be supplied to all the schools in zilla parishads, municipal corporations, government-aided and semi-government.

The special feature about these books, which will be made by Namoanand Upcyclers is that they are environment-friendly. Students will be given notebooks that are called ‘Green Notebooks’ along with other paper stationery books.

According to the department, this project of distributing books in exchange for junk was started in Pune district schools where it got good response from students. Hence, they decided to take it forward in all the schools in the state.

Students can give whatever to the company or the government, which can be considered as ‘junk’ in exchange for books and other paper material.
