Man crushed to death by truck in mulund

Mumbai: A 19-year-old man was crushed to death in Mulund on Monday while he was relieving himself at the back of his truck. A case of death due to negligence has been registered at the Navghar police station against the container truck driver who failed to apply brakes and rammed into a stationary container parked behind victim’s truck.

According to the police, the incident took place around 1.15 pm on Sunday when the deceased, identified as Ranjitkumar Chauhan, who was in the truck along with his brother and driver Ramkishor (21), got down to relieve himself on the Airoli Creek bridge as there was a traffic jam.

“While relieving himself behind his truck the accused rammed his container truck into the container truck parked behind deceased’s truck, which crushed him,” said an officer of Navghar police station.

The officials said that Ranjitkumar was rushed to a nearby hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries.
